Principal Investigator
Dr. Tianjin Yang will start as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at Nanyang Technological University in April 2026. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Benjamin Schuler’s group at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. Her research focuses on developing microfluidic single-molecule fluorescence spectroscopy platforms to investigate biomolecular interactions and dynamics, including intrinsically disordered proteins and nucleosome dynamics in DNA repair.
Dr. Yang obtained her PhD from ETH Zurich (Switzerland) under the supervision of Prof. Andrew deMello, where she worked on optofluidic systems for controlled chemical and biological experimentation. She holds a Master’s degree in Medicinal and Industrial Pharmaceutical Sciences from ETH Zurich and a Bachelor’s degree from Southeast University, Nanjing, China. She gained industrial experience through internship at the Novartis Institute for BioMedical Research (Basel, Switzerland) and as a researcher at BASF (Ludwigshafen, Germany).
